Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das, the second accused in the case, wept bitterly after taking the seventh point testimony in the murder case of retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.
She was seen crying as she was picked up in a police prison van at around 5:30 pm on Wednesday (November 18) after court proceedings.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Munir Ul Gias and Inspector Hafizur Rahman were present on both sides of the handcuffed OC Pradeep. OC Pradeepak has never been seen crying in public like this before.
Public Prosecutor (PP) of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Faridul Alam, a state counsel for Kanna, said the accused OC Pradeep may have realized that he was going to be punished for his crime soon. She is crying because of that fear.

প্রসঙ্গত, ২০২০ সালের ৩১ জুলাই রাতে টেকনাফ মেরিন ড্রাইভ সড়কের শামলাপুর তল্লাশিচৌকিতে পুলিশের গুলিতে নিহত হন সিনহা মো. রাশেদ খান। ওই ঘটনায় পুলিশ বাদী হয়ে তিনটি (টেকনাফে দুটি, রামুতে একটি) মামলা করে। পুলিশের মামলায় সিনহার সঙ্গে থাকা সাহেদুল ইসলামকে গ্রেপ্তার দেখানো হয়। এরপর সিনহা যেখানে ছিলেন, হিমছড়ির নীলিমা রিসোর্টে ঢুকে তার ভিডিও দলের দুই সদস্য শিপ্রা দেবনাথ ও তাহসিন রিফাত নুরকেও আটক করা হয়। পরে নুরকে ছেড়ে দিলেও শিপ্রা ও সিফাতকে গ্রেপ্তার করে কারাগারে পাঠায় পুলিশ। পরে তারা জামিনে মুক্তি পান।
On August 5, Sinha’s elder sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdous filed a murder case against Teknaf Police OC Pradeep Kumar Das, Baharchhara Investigation Center Inspector Liaquat Ali and nine other policemen in a Cox’s Bazar court. RAB is responsible for investigating four cases.
