After the arrest of Munna in a murder case with the help of information technology, PBI members got information about another murder from him. Munnar’s associate Deen Islam Deenu (19) is a microbus driver. The bodies of the women were dumped in his car. The PBI has also arrested him. Deenu is the son of Mostafa Miah of Durgapur village in Comilla Sadar.
The victims were identified as Panna Akhter, 26, daughter of Amir Hossain of Baniapara village in Daudkandi district and Laili Begum Rima, 28, daughter of Shafiqul Islam of Amtali village in Comilla Sadar upazila. Panna Akhter, a mother of two, was killed on October 24. Laili, the mother of one child, was killed on September 2.
Details of the incident were discussed at a press conference at the Comilla district PBI office on Tuesday (November 2) at noon, said Superintendent of Police. Mizanur Rahman. লিখিত বক্তব্যে পুলিশ সুপার মো.মিজানুর রহমান বলেন, পান্না আক্তারের হত্যার ঘটনায় গত ২৫ অক্টোবর সদর দক্ষিণ থানায় অজ্ঞাতনামা আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধ হত্যা মামলা হলে আমরা মামলাটির ছায়া তদন্ত শুরু করি। পরবর্তীতে আমাদের পিবিআই প্রধান ডিআইজি বনজ কুমার মজুমদার স্যারের নির্দেশনায় মামলাটি রহস্যে খুঁজতে উদ্যোগে গ্রহণ করি। এরপর তথ্য-প্রযুক্তির সহায়তায় গত ৩১ অক্টোবর নগরীর রেইসকোস এলাকা থেকে সিরিয়াল কিলার মুন্নাকে গ্রেপ্তার করি। তার তথ্যে একই দিন রাতে গ্রেপ্তার করি তার সহযোগী দ্বীনুকে। প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে তারা দুইজনই হত্যাকাণ্ডের কথা স্বীকার করে।
এরপর আমরা মুন্নার মোবাইল নম্বরের সঙ্গে লাইলী বেগম রিমার মোবাইল নম্বরের যোগসূত্র খুঁজে পাই। লাইলীর পরিবার তার নিখোঁজের ঘটনায় একটি অপহরণ মামলা করেছিলো আদালতে, সেটি আমরা তদন্ত করছি। আর লাশ উদ্ধারের ঘটনায় ফেনী সদর থানায় অজ্ঞাতনামা আসামিদের বিরুদ্ধে একটি হত্যা মামলা করেছে পুলিশ। এরপর কয়েক দফা জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে মুন্না দুই নারীকে হত্যার কথাই স্বীকার করেছে। গত সোমবার বিকেলে আদালতে স্বীকারোক্তিমূলক জবানবন্দি দিয়েছে তারা দুইজন।
মিজানুর রহমান আরও বলেন, জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে মুন্না জানিয়েছে, ওই নারীদের সঙ্গে প্রথমে মোবাইলে প্রেমের সম্পর্ক গড়ে তোলেন তিনি। এরপর তাদেরকে বিয়ের প্রলোভনে ডেকে এনে প্রথম ধর্ষণ এবং পরে গলায় ওড়না পেঁচিয়ে শ্বাসরোধে হত্যার পর বস্তায় ভরে লাশ ফেলে দিতেন মহাসড়কের পাশে। দ্বীনুর মাইক্রোবাসে করে পান্নার লাশ ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের পাশে কুমিল্লার সদর দক্ষিণ থানার গোপিনাথপুর এলাকায় ফেলে দেওয়া হয়। আর লাইলীর লাশ ফেনী সদরের শর্শদী এলাকায় ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের পাশে জঙ্গলে ফেলে দেওয়া হয়।
তিনি বলেন, প্রেমের সম্পর্ক গড়ে ধর্ষণ এবং পরে হত্যা নেশায় পরিণত হচ্ছিলো। সে একজন সিরিয়াল কিলার। এ দুইজন ছাড়া আর কাউকে এভাবে হত্যা করেছে কি-না আমরা সকল স্থানে তা যাচাই করে দেখছি। আমরা তার লাগাম টেনে ধরতে না পারলে কিছুদিনের মধ্যে হয়তো আরও কয়েকটি হত্যাকাণ্ড ঘটাতো সে। তার সঙ্গে আরও অন্তত তিনজন নারীর একইভাবে প্রেমের সম্পর্ক গড়ে উঠার প্রমাণ পাওয়া গেছে। যারা ছিলো মুন্নার পরবর্তী টার্গেট।
