An HSC examinee has committed suicide in Mymensingh’s Phulpur after refusing a long-term love affair.
He died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Tuesday night.
Shahidul Islam Jibon, 19, son of Ruhul Amin of Payari village in Payari union of the upazila, was studying at the local Phulpur Degree College. He was supposed to take part in the upcoming HSC exams.
It is learned that his classmate had a love affair with Jivan, a resident of a village in the upazila. But that longtime lover has recently suddenly started rejecting life. Life poisoned his home on Monday afternoon in the pain of separation.
He was rushed to Phulpur and later to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he died at midnight on Tuesday.
Phulpur police OC said. Abdullah Al Mamun said an unnatural death case had been filed in the incident. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
