A two-week (Oct. 25- November 7, 2020) of community awareness, participation, and fund-raising campaign through Scotia-Bank Waterfront Marathon.  Money raised will go to the Life Saving Society of Ontario and CRS (Canada Running Series) Foundation to help develop programs that help people make healthy choices and contribute to resilience through swimming and running.

Campaign Ask: At least 30-minutes of mindful activities everyday which could include: walking, running, swimming, yoga, mindfulness meditation, journaling, random act of kindness, gratitude practice, or connecting with someone outside of your family, learn something new.

Why: Making positive lifestyle choices facilitate positive, even transformative change. With the uncertainty of COVID, we can act, take action around what we can control. Taking action is the way to get unstuck and create new windows of opportunities and new beginnings for lasting changes that have the potential to transform our lives.  Exercise like walking or running is the best medicine that we have available right now to keep ourselves healthy -- both physically and mentally. People can do it solo, stay safe, and stay positive.

Story: Nikesh Amit is a social citizen, a certified life saver, a swim instructor, and an aspiring marathoner.

Nikesh has never been a serious runner. He has started running only when COVID 19 shut everything down in March 2020. In fact, he didn’t have any other option available other than walking and running in the streets, parks and trails of Mississauga.

Nikesh believes that we all have a choice, in any challenging life situation -- either to be beaten by it or take inspired action. He chooses to take a MINDFUL BOLD action every single day. He chooses to walk, run, or swim. And he invites others to do the same.

Nikesh knows, first-hand, that healthy choices can facilitate change, even positive transformations. Only by making lifestyle choices he has recently lost more than 50 lbs. and reversed a severe medical condition called Sleep Apnea! As a result, he has more vitality, productivity, and joy in life!
