H. E. Mr. Mizanur Rahman, the Non-Resident Bangladesh Ambassador to the Republic of Nicaragua presented his credentials to the President of Nicaragua Mr. Daniel Ortega on today 6 February 2019 in Managua, Nicaragua. The Vice President Mrs Rosario Murillo and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Denis Moncada of Nicaragua joined the ceremony. Counsellor (Political) Mr Miah Md Mainul Kabir accompanied the Ambassador at the ceremony. While presenting the credentials the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Hon'ble President and Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh to President Ortega. In his brief remarks, the Ambassador highlighted on the exemplary socio-economic development of Bangladesh in every sector under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that led to her landslide victory in the Parliamentary Election held on 30 December 2018. He thanked President Ortega and Vice President Murillo for sending congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for her re-election as the Prime Minister. Ambassador handed over the letter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanking the President and Vice President for their message. The Ambassador hoped for the enhanced bilateral relations specially in the fields of trade, commerce and investment. He mentioned about the prospects of increasing exports of Bangladeshi goods like RMG, jute products, pharmaceuticals, leather products etc to Nicaragua. He also sought Nicaragua's continued cooperation in international fora on the Rohingya issue. The President thanked the Ambassador and assured to extend cooperation of his Government in furthering the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nicaragua. He reiterated his congratulations and good wishes to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. During the credentials ceremony Ambassador Mizanur Rahman presented a copy of the Unfinished Memoire of The father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to President Ortega.
