Crossing the boundary of the own country, popular National Film Award winning actress Jaya Ahsan has won the heart of the audiences both home and abroad with her dazzling and skilful acting. She is the first ever artiste from Bangladesh who has received the prestigious ‘Film Fair Award’ and ‘Z Cine Awards’ in India. Today is the birthday of the lustrous actress-producer Jaya Ahsan.
Currently, the actress’s new film ‘Debi’, a silver screen adaptation of noted writer Humayun Ahmed’s famous novel with the same title, is scheduled to hit cinemas in September this year. In the film, popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury will play the role of Misir Ali while Jaya Ahsan will be portraying the character of Ranu.
Jaya-starrer film ‘Khacha’, directed by Akram Khan, was screened in the four-day ‘Bangladesh Film Festival’ in Kolkata last week. Like always, Jaya’s excellent performance in the film was praised by the audiences of the festival.
About her achievements, Jaya Ahsan expressed her feeling, “For an artist, any kind of achievement is always respectful and well-appreciated. My country has awarded me with the National Film Award for my role in the film.”
“However, I was the first Bangladeshi who was awarded as the best actress in ‘Z Cine Awards’ and ‘Film Fair Award’ for acting in the films in India. As a Bangladeshi, I feel very proud for this achievement”, she added.
About her birthday, the actress sought blessings from the audiences and fans, so that she could lead a healthy and happy life. As well as, she could present the audiences all wonderful films.
Jaya Ahsan has almost completed the shooting for three new Bangladeshi films, -- Nurul Alam Atique’s ‘Lal Moroger Jhuti’, ‘Peyarar Subatsh’ and Mahmood Didar’s ‘Beauty Circus’.
Currently, the actress is waiting for the release of her film ‘Ek Jey Chilo Raja’ directed by Srijit Mukharjee. The film is set to hit cinemas in Kolkata on the occasion of Durga Puja.
A few other films of Jaya Ahsan will be released in Kolkata in the current year; these are Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’, Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Bijoya’ and Arnob Paul’s ‘Brishti Tomake Dilam’.
